The course is 20 hours class contact time plus home study. We look at the main aspects of running a complementary health practice from marketing to the legalities of running a kinesiology practice from home. Students are encouraged to look at their own individual space and practical abilities and to be clear in what they are offering to clients and what they can practically fit into their lifestyle.

The course is divided into four parts:

1. Setting up a practice from home or working in treatments centres or renting rooms
2. Self Employment
3. Advertising and promotion
4. Legal Requirements

Students will also learn some basic book-keeping skills to support this course.

Home study and assessment in Practice Management for therapists who have previous self employment experience or have completed some training in Practice Management.  Certificate of assessment after successful completion of comprehensive written paper.  Pass rate of 80% meets the KF's requirements for Practice Management.

Accreditation of prior learning (APL) - minimum 30 notional hours
plus assessment. 

Certificates from the following providers do not meet the current requirements - BSY (British School of Yoga), SNHS (School of Natural Health Sciences), Stonebridge College.
