CKA Members guide to joining the KF


We would like to extend a warm welcome to our colleagues considering membership of the Kinesiology Federation from the CKA.

The KF has a variety of Membership options.  To assist your transition to KF membership we have prepared some useful information for you, and quick links to some of our more popular online membership application forms.

If you are currently a CKAP this is commensurate with the KF Associate membership status.  These members have completed their foundation and practitioner Kinesiology training and are now in the process of undertaking their core subjects, 200 insured clinic practice hours and 4 mentoring sessions.

KF Associate status runs for 3 years (with the option to extend to 5 years) during which time you will complete your core subjects, clinic hours and mentoring, ready to progress to KFRP Status.  KF Associates are not required to evidence any extra CPD whilst they undertake their core subjects.

The cost for membership as a KF Associate is £80 per annum

If you are currently a CKRP this is commensurate with the KFRP membership status.  These members have completed their foundation and practitioner kinesiology training, have completed their core subjects, recorded 200 insured clinic practice hours and 4 mentoring sessions.

KFRP members are required to evidence 30 hours CPD every 2 years, 15 hours of which must be Kinesiology based (k-based).

The cost of KFRP membership is £105 per annum.

Once you have met the KFRP membership requirements, you may wish to progress to AKFRP status.  These members have completed a minimum of 1200 total hours (80 attendance days) of training, with a minimum of 600 hours of kinesiology training, have been a KFRP for at least 5 years and showing evidence of an active client / teaching Kinesiology practice (average of 10 hrs per week).  They have ongoing public liability and personal indemnity insurance for a minimum of one million pounds and are over 25 years of age.

AKFRP members are required to evidence a minimum of 4 days (30 hours) of courses relevant to their kinesiology business for continuing professional and personal development over a 4-year period. 

The cost of AKFRP Memebership is £125 per annum.

Affiliate membership is open to professionals who use Kinesiology as an adjunct with practising another health care therapy OR for professionals who solely practise Kinesiology who have qualified in foundation and practitioner Kinesiology training, but not completed the requirements for upgrading to KFRP within the required 5 years while being an Associate.

Affiliate members are required to evidence a minimum of 4 days (30 hours) of courses relevant to their Kinesiology business and Continuing Professional & Personal Development over a 2-year period.

The cost of Affiliate membership status is £60 per annum.

Students who are currently attending a KF recognised Kinesiology training with a KF recognised Instructor are welcome to join the KF.

The cost of student membership is £20 per annum

Please note: It is not possible to save the online application forms as you go but the answers are all quite straightforward. 

You will receive a copy of your completed form by email once you have submitted it.
If you wish to upload your certificates and supporting documentation to the online application there is an option to do this, otherwise you may submit them separately, should you prefer. 
Once we have received your completed application form we will contact you regarding payment.
